The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) requires you to provide accurate contact information including your name, address, email address and phone number while registering a domain name or you may risk losing it. These information are also required to be listed publicly in the "WHOIS" database.

These information are publicly available on the internet to anybody who wants to see them. Therefore, when you register a domain name, your personal information are at risk and openly available to marketing firms, fraudsters and spammers. By utilising Limenex's WHOIS Privacy Protection service, you can stay worry-free!

How does it work?

When you enable our WHOIS Privacy Protection service on a domain name, we replace all your publicly visible contact details with alternate contact information so that when a WHOIS query is performed on your domain(s), an alternate mailing address, email address and phone number are displayed. YOU RETAIN FULL OWNERSHIP OF THE DOMAIN AND HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF IT.

What is Privacy Protection

Anyone who tries to contact you using the alternate email address or phone number provided in the public WHOIS database will be directed to an Online Contact Form which will in turn email the message to you. All mails sent to the alternate mailing address will be rejected.


Due to registry restrictions, WHOIS Privacy Protection cannot be used with asia,,,, bz, ca, cn,, de,, es, eu, in,,,,,,, jp, nl, nu,,,, pro, ru,,,, sg,, tel, tv, tw,,,,,, and us domains.

WHOIS Privacy Protection service can only be used on domain names registered with Limenex.

If there is a particular TLD you wish to register with us but you don't see it on the list, feel free to contact our sales department and enquire! We have an extensive portfolio of TLDs but we don't advertise all of them explicitly.

Most TLDs will enter redemption status once the domain expires. When the domain expires, your website, emails, DNS and everything related to the domain will cease to function.

For most TLDs, you have a certain amount of grace period after the domain's expiry date to renew and reactivate your domain name. The grace period varies depending on TLD.

If the domain was not renewed within this grace period, it will be placed under a "redemption status" at the Registry.

To reinstate your domain, there is a redemption fee exclusive of the domain's regular renewal fee payable (check prices here). If the domain was not redeemed within a certain period (varies depending on TLD), it will be deleted and released to the public for registration.

Please be reminded that once the domain is released back to the public for registration, anybody can register the domain on a first come first serve basis.

To avoid paying redemption fee, please ensure you renew your domains prior to its expiry date.

If your domain is in redemption status, please open a ticket with our billing department if you wish to redeem your domain back.
